Data we collect

Orders and account: name, delivery and billing address, email, phone number, order history.
Payment: card and bank details are processed directly by our payment providers; we do not store them.
Newsletter: your email address, if you sign up.
Contact and reviews: the information you send us via the contact form or when you leave a review.
Browsing: technical data (IP address, device, pages viewed) collected via cookies, according to your choices.

Purposes and legal bases

Processing and delivering your order, handling customer service and returns — performance of the contract.
Keeping our accounts and meeting our tax obligations — legal obligation.
Sending you our newsletter — your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Audience measurement and online advertising — your consent (non-essential cookies).
Website security and fraud prevention — legitimate interest.

Retention periods

Order data and invoices: for the period required by Belgian accounting and tax law (up to 10 years).
Customer account: until it is deleted, or 3 years after your last activity.
Newsletter: until you unsubscribe, or after 3 years without interaction.
Contact requests: 3 years after our last exchange.
Cookies: 13 months maximum.

Recipients and processors

Your data is never sold. It is shared only with the service providers we need to run our business:

Shopify International Limited (Ireland) — shop hosting and order processing;
payment providers: Shopify Payments, PayPal, Klarna, Bancontact;
Shop Pay (Shopify) — if you choose to save your details for faster checkout; Shopify then stores them under its own privacy policy;
MyParcel (Netherlands/Belgium) — creating shipping labels and tracking parcels;
carriers, to deliver your parcel;
Judge.me, to collect and display customer reviews, including the email inviting you to leave a review after your order;
Trustoo, which stores previously published customer reviews;
our email service, for the newsletter;
our accountant, as part of our legal obligations.

Transfers outside the European Union

Some providers may process data outside the EU (notably in the United States). These transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards: an adequacy decision (EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework) or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

Cookies

Strictly necessary cookies (basket, security, payment) are set without consent. Analytics and advertising cookies are only set with your agreement, via the banner shown on your first visit. You can change your choices at any time using the "Your privacy choices" link at the bottom of the page.

Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, as well as the right to withdraw your consent at any time. To exercise these rights, email us at info@bismeq.com; we will reply within one month.

You may also lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority, Rue de la Presse 35, 1000 Brussels — www.dataprotectionauthority.be.

Minors

Our shop is intended for people aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect data relating to children.
